Many Reasons Why Pino’s is my Favorite Restaurant in Joyudas
Before I was vegetarian I would love to go and eat Seafood in the sector of Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico called Joyudas. For more than a decade I would visit one of the restaurants where my first boss took us many times to eat on weekends as a treat.
A Creature of habit
I am a creature of habit and if I am treated like I was at home at an establishment, I return over and over again. Pino’s Restaurant has awesome food and to complement, excellent customer service.
Rock Star Waiter
Since I was a regular and I lived about an hour away from the restaurant, every chance I had throughout high school and college I would try to make it up to the restaurant. I was also very impressed with one particular waiter who I knew by the name of Kikin. He would make sure I had the best and fresh options on the menu.
When I worked as a bartender I would exchange drink recipes and concoctions with Kikin. We kept on building a better relationship with each visit. It got to a point that I went to visit that particular restaurant for the food and to have a chat with my friend Kikin.
When I moved to CT, I would visit the island at least every two months and I would make sure I made a stop at Joyudas.
Being a Friend to Your Co-Workers
One day I stopped for a meal with the family and did not find my friend Kikin at my favorite restaurant. The wait staff told me that he had set up his own restaurant a few miles away. Kikin was such a great guy that even his old co-workers made sure his old customers knew he had moved elsewhere.
Being an Excellent Waiter Brought Me over to Pino’s Restaurant
Due to the great relationship I had with Kikin, I drove down to where Kikin was established and spoke to him. Ever since then, I have been a customer of Pino’s Restaurant in Joyudas.
For approximately 7 years since Kikin has owned Pino’s, I have taken my friends and family when they visit the island to go eat at Pino’s Restaurant in Joyudas. I would not go anywhere else.
Taking Special Care of Customers
When I became vegetarian, Kikin informed me that he had a few items on the menu. That is the only vegetarian friendly restaurant that is open most of the time on the west coast of Puerto Rico and in the Joyudas area.
I trust him with My Meals
I visit Kikin because after many years, I trust him with his recommendations and I appreciate that he modifies his mostly seafood menu to fit my vegetarian dietary needs.
Family Business
When you visit the restaurant you can clearly see that everyone is willing to take care of you. Different to other restaurants on the island and in that area, the wait staff is composed of family members. They are really there to take care of you and make sure you return. When I go in there they make me feel like I am a family member visiting instead of a customers that comes in every few months.
My Favorite Vegetarian Friendly Restaurant
If you are ever in Joyudas and want a fresh meal or have dietary restrictions, I recommend you visit Kikin and his family and let them know what you would need prepared.
I am more than sure that they will take care of you and your guests.
So drive down to the west coast and give Pino’s a try by having lunch next to this awesome view.
