Problogger’s Guide to Blogging For Your Business
Someone I admire for being able to get his Brick & Mortar Small Business to achieve success via a Blog is my good friend @Mark_Hayward.
I have mentioned @Mark_Hayward before on a few blog posts regarding the great job he has done with his Guest House in the Paradise Island of Culebra.
I was privileged to receive a complimentary copy of @Mark_hayward ’s new book, ProBlogger’s Guide to Blogging for Your Business, which he created in collaboration with @Problogger.
@Mark_Hayward includes many useful tips and I was able to learn a lot by reading this neat e-book. The book is a must have resource for bloggers who are starting off or for those like myself who are continuously sharpening their blogging skills.
There are tutorials, tips, and checklists that aid you in establishing your first blog to measuring the results of your efforts. Tutorials include installing wordpress, optimizing wordpress, and recommendations on key plug-ins you should consider adding to your blog.
I really enjoyed the checklists that guide you on how to establish a blog. I wish I had a tool like this one to help me when I started blogging. I was also happy that Mark decided to mention my favorite bloggers like Beth Kanter, John Jantsch, Becky McCray, and Chris Brogan throughout the book.
I saw the value in this book when I was able to answer the following 10 questions my clients, blog readers, and other contacts ask me on multiple occasions.
- Should my Blog be part of my corporate site?
- What blogging platform is right for me?
- What should I write about?
- How do I choose a Domain Name?
- How do I choose the right website hosting?
- How do I get readers to my blog?
- How to integrate other Social Media Channels to my blog
- If my business is a nonprofit should I be blogging?
- How do I measure my progress?
- Should I include videos in my blog posts?
Overall @Mark_Hayward offers some great reasons why blogging fits any organization and tackles some of the most complex issues like content strategy and an editorial calendar.
I really enjoyed the action items he created to really get your business blogging.
I highly recommend @Mark_Haywards ’s book and if you are trying to get yourself to blog about business or getting your organization into blogging, this is the right book for you.
