@Shaq Innocent Until Proven Guilty

Site obligates you to Click the Ad – Suspicious

There has been news online that Shaquille O’neal apparently made some derogatory comments about Puerto Rico.

What seems Suspicious to me!

When I tried to visit the post on tab Deportes with the alleged derogatory comments to Emilio Perez a collaborator at Tabnation.com via my MacBook on Chrome I ended up with an ad that was difficult to get over it. I had to bypass so I could read the post (WARNING: before you click watch what happens when you try to enter the tabdeportes.com).

Video of TabDeportes Site

Below I have enclosed a screenshot of how the site claiming that Shaq dissed Puerto Ricans reacts when you go directly to the post or visit it via its domain.

If you want to read the post on the site Download a PDF Copy here in Spanish!

SHAQUILLE O’ NEAL SE BURLA DE PUERTO RICO | Tiro Al Blanco”

This makes me feel that maybe this was a stunt to move traffic to there site which worked out pretty well because the site was over capacity.

Looking at the sites Whois information and I see the blog/site is fairly new:

A Big Fan of Shaq Since the Early 90’s

I have been a fan of Shaquille O’neal for many years even when he was a Rookie. I have always seen him as a guy with a great sense of humor.

Anyone can write that something happen but if they can’t provide video or at least audio then I have to side with Shaq who different to Amaury Nolasco quickly created a video to let his fans especially those in Puerto Rico that he loves the Island and did not make the comments. The only thing I did not like about the video was his mamacita comment but I guess he was trying to use humor and that part might have backfired on him.

Special thanks to @roxypr for pointing me to this video.

Innocent Until Proven Guilty

Until I see evidence I declare Shaq innocent until proven guilty!

Many people jumped the Gun and attacked Shaq via twitter and Facebook without validating the source or requesting any evidence.

If only those individuals that jumped the gun would actually do the same when one of our own offends like Amaury Nolasco did and to this day he still has not apologized publicly

What do you think about this incident?

If the reporter has no evidence he has a lot explaining to do.

On the other side don’t you find it shady that the website had a pop up ad that almost forced you to click on it.

It would be interesting to find what type of ad service they are using and seeing if they are following ad guidelines since they force you to click on the ad as you can see in the image above.

I will update if the folks at tabdeportes.com can provide evidence of Shaq’s criticism or what happened? If not I think many might owe Shaq an apology.

      Daniel,

    Yo solo espero que no haya dicho lo de PR.  Puede ser que el Emilio ese se puso imprudente como hacen otros paparazzis.  Lo feo es que si, muchos boricuas empezaron a insultarlo por Facebook y Twitter sin escuchar la version de Shaq.

      Muchas cosas son extrañas de este incidente. No hay audio, No hay video, La persona hace que uno le de click a un ad.

      De seguro pienso que fue un evento para conseguir sus 15 minutos de fama.

    The whole ad thing is a valid issue, but the story also ran on La Nueva 94, which has no ads and Emilio was on the radio today as well and basically stood by his story. It is an interesting story, but Shaq’s classless tweets and his dumb video response don’t help it.

      @julito77:twitter ,

      I have expressed myself on how lame the press is locally. It brings them buzz. I am sure nobody asked the questions of why his website has shady ads etc.
      Shaq is just being himself. Now the wording this guy added clearly does not make it look like someone like Shaq would say something.

      If they are so called reporters where is the audio where is the video… Or some other type of Evidence.

      If someone made up a story like this of myself and I was in Shaq’s position I think Shaq was polite enough!

        @Rj_C We talked with TABPR today and will have more to share. A few things to note: the ads program was taken down around 2pm EST yesterday, and they said that they credited the video you did, so that is cool. Also, Pérez says he has 9 witnesses but that they will be sending TNT a release that records the entire alleged incident. I doubt they would be making this up and in fact, Shaq has not denied that an incident didn’t occur and on Twitter he says reporter wanted a photograph and an hour later in video, Shaq said he wanted an autograph. This is a very interesting story, but good for you for doing the screen captures. They listened.

          @Julito77:twitter ,

          If they have a video then they should have posted it immediately. Not sure why it has taken them this long. After so many questionable actions and the delay in the video I wonder who those 9 witnesses are? IS it from their staff or friends of theirs.

          If they release the video then I would be more than happy to update the post until then I still question their motives!

          • Facebook User on February 28, 2012 at 6:31 pm

            They are answering the whole ad thing and the we need video concern. Release will be coming soon, according to them. All valid questions.

            As for the other 9 people, they are others in PR press. We will see. Just sharing what they told me. You don’t need to believe it, just wanted to share. ¡Abrazos!

            Just heard Emilio on an interview with La Nueva 94 FM. He said “obviamente allí no habían camaras, alli no habia video…”

            Osvaldo,

            It worries me that if they did not have a way to proof what happened why did they make such a big stink.

            We don’t know what any party said.

    he loves us so much that he misspelled our 1/4 island’s name

    • Raul Colon on February 29, 2012 at 9:32 am

      Alex spelling has nothing to do with how you feel. I know many individuals who don’t write well and are passionate individuals.
