We need a new version of La Rogativa!
So many times people direct their attention on this island towards pure illusions. Today I woke up to the local Puerto Rican press and those who support it, putting the focus on a family massacre.
I rarely see individuals putting the spotlight on those that are the unknown heroes helping others. Those heroes that keep many things going without taking advantage of others.
In 1797, an act of faith deterred a successful invasion of Puerto Rico by the British. Some strong-willed women lead by a few religious leaders came out to support the Spanish troops.
Sir Ralph Abercrombie and his men saw the figures in the distance and assumed they were Spanish reinforcements.
Maybe we can learn a thing or two from our past.
We might need a virtual Rogativa to get people to focus on the positive.
Think of what difference you can make if you decide to ignore the local press and bring light to those who read you.
We need to fight for a better Puerto Rico. A Better World.
We won't achieve that by sharing horrific news early in the morning.
Where will you put your energy?
