Demonstration of Puerto Rico opposing Naled Aerial Spraying
History Tries to Repeat Itself
History tries to repeat itself. Puerto Rico is in on track to continue being a testing ground for U.S. experiments. Years ago it was Agent Orange, now it's Naled.
For the past weeks I have seen how thousands have gone out to the streets expressing the opposition to Naled. Many have tweeted out to Alejandro Garcia Padilla the need to stop the Naled spraying. I don't expect a response from him any time soon.
I myself have gone out to the streets to protest. One interesting thing is seeing many subject matter experts walking with us. Folks from all walks of life; Scientists, organic farmers, business owners, beekeepers, restaurant owners, and physicians trying to stop the fumigation.
Decision made by the Federal Government on Experimenting
It seems the Federal Government is putting a lot of pressure on local officials to test Naled in Puerto Rico.
Attempts to sit down with the Governor failed. He sent some representatives to chat with activists.

Lawsuits on the Horizon
It seems a lawsuit from the Municipality of San Juan and other groups is in the planning stages. We cannot allow for the Island to continue to be an area for experimentation.
Politicians that were Present and showing their support
A few brave Politicians in Office like Carmen Yulin (Mayor of San Juan) and Maria de Lourdes Santiago (Running for Governor) are against the fumigation. Both of them have been present in demonstrations.
Rafael Bernabe was present at the demonstration from the start. His presence like that of Maria de Lourdes Santiago demonstrated he is against Naled.
I asked the two candidates from Puerto Rico's Main Political Parties on Twitter if they were against Naled.
David Bernier says He is Against Naled. Ricky Rosello Silent
I asked the two candidates from Puerto Rico's Main Political Parties on Twitter if they were against Naled.
David Bernier quickly answered that he was against it. I appreciate his prompt response but I did not see anything else on how he would work with us to stop it.
@rj_c En contra

The other candidate Ricky Rosello is yet to respond.
But the reality of just saying you're against something only helps a tiny bit. We need the presence of these individuals and their commitment with a plan of action to work with us.
Negative Effects of A Federal Oversight Board
The biggest issue now is that a Federal Oversight Board will be put in charge. The "Board" in reality is a Collection Agency paid by Puerto Rican Taxpayers.
There is very little that local officials might want to do because they don't want to piss off the Federal Government. So in compliance with the experimentation, many are willing to lie and turn a blind eye.
Our Secretary of Health should Resign
Individuals like the secretary of health Ana Ríus Armendáriz are behind the Naled spraying. I have seen many requests asking for Ana's resignation. Her interests are clearly not with the well being of the Island.
Ana is suppose to be there for the people of Puerto Rico. But it's clear she is serving herself into protecting her position and nice salary.
Continue the Fight
We have to continue fighting to stop the U.S. Government from immediately killing bees while they will be slowly killing residents of Puerto Rico. It is a cycle of life; one can’t live without the other.
How is it that if Naled is not even certified by the EPA that they can fumigate the island with it?
Does that make any sense?
What are you going to do? Or will our children have to suffer the effects of our inability to stop these dangerous experiments?
How can you help?
I ask you for one big favor; can you ask the CDC, our Governor, and the U.S. President not to fumigate us.
Click on any of the social buttons below; it should be as easy as one or two clicks.
For now, we need your help to at least understand a bit more of what is going on in Puerto Rico and to share it with others.
