Ipad 2 Dual Stand Case Review

Most of you read my sad story with the iPad 2 Very Fragile which I was able to resolve with the great people of the Apple Store at the Danbury Mall in CT and the help of my brother @javierrcolon and my almost brother Jason.

While I was traveling back from Hispanicize I took the opportunity to stop at the electronic Shop in @jetblue Terminal 5 (better known as T5).

I stopped to look at possible cases so the iPad 2 incident would not happen again. Since I received the replacement, I have been very hesitant to even hold it; I am always trying to keep my two hands grasping on to it so I make sure it does not fall.

The reason my first iPad 2 broke was because the edges are very sensitive and not covered by the smart cover pictured below.

One of the first things I verified with the  Macally DUALSTAND2 Case with Stand for iPad 2 (amazon affiliate link) was that it was covering edges and making sure that if it fell on the floor it would take the impact. Although I have not tested the Macally DUALSTAND2 yet I do think it covers the edges in a way sufficient enough to protect the iPad 2. This cover made by Macally is one that serves the purpose although I have to say it add some weight to the light iPad 2.

It also brings a stand which can be adjusted for typing or for viewing media. I am still having a hard time trying to get the stand to come out and in some occasions just with a small touch it will tip over. Another flaw is that it offers no protection for the front part of the screen but overall I am very happy with the cover so far.

What other types of Covers or Cases would you recommend?

How do you feel about the Smart Cover?

I am currently using the iPad 2 Defender Series Case which I received as a complimentary review sample and I highly recommend i

I had an iPad old generation with Apple’s black cover. Back then it looked like a pretty good idea, but while handling the iPad2 I realized I have been missing a lot covering the device with a sturdy cover. The new smart cover addresses just this problem, and it’s one of the most brilliant accessories I have ever seen in my whole life.
This said, I’ll never, ever put any other cover on my iPad, no matter what. It’s just too awesome to handle “bare” to cover it with unnecessary protections. It just forces me to be a bit careful, but after all it’s the least you can expect with a 600 bucks device.

      Gabriele,

I felt the same way until I dropped it once… Seeing how fragile it was and going thru the headache of getting it replace made me quickly decide I had to get a case for it.

      Thanks for the comment!
