” I woke up  the sun is shining and the weather is sweet” ♩ ♪ ♫ ♬ like Bob Marley’s sings, I woke up today living those lyrics. I wonder how Bob woke up each day knowing that he was going against what the government wanted for his countrymen. He went against the orthodox thinking of many and paid for it with attempts on his life.

Even years after his death, many revere his legacy. If you are not as passionate as Bob, you might end up like so many people, accomplishing great things but having them go unnoticed. It is my perception that those who actually have a rebellious nature with good intent, can validate that doing the right thing will pay off for them in the long term.

Most people I admire have one thing in common, they had to struggle and go against all odds to accomplish what they left behind. Many of them lived their complete lives improving the well being of others while they where struggling to make ends meat.

I remember reading Walt Disney: The Triumph of the American Imagination (Amazon Affiliate Link) three years ago when I decided to start my own business. I guess it was the perfect book for the adventure I was about to embark on. Many of us might have thought that Walt Disney was swimming in money like “Scrooge McDuck” in the 90’s cartoon series Duck Tales (based on the comic book series by Carl Banks). Disney worked and created many awesome things but most of his movies where complete flops in the box office. Disney was way ahead of his time and many could not really value what he was doing.

Throughout the years Disney stayed focus and sacrificed many things to have those around him go along with him on his Dream. There where occasions where most of his staff made more money than him. He was so focused on quality he would prefer to give out the best quality product by hiring the best and paid them what they where worth. Yes there where occasions where Disney had employees strike but I guess when you are building an empire and leaving a Legacy behind it is impossible to make everyone happy. Today most of us walk into a Disney parks or watch Disney movies and so many don’t even have the slightest ideas of the struggles Walt went hrough to have the Disney name become a great part of many of our lives.

I still remember the first time I went to Disneyland in 2005 for a few hours it was a unique experience. I will never forget looking at Cinderella’s castle. Today I look forward to sharing those experience with my daughter Daniela.

Bob Marley and Walt Disney have motivated me to be a bit rebellious and passionate to the point of making huge sacrifices in trying to get where I want to be. I am sure everyone has heard a Bob Marley song in their lifetime and everyone can also recognize at least one Disney character. I can say their sacrifices really paid off in the long run.

What are you willing to sacrficie to be where you want to be?
