The Road to Misfit Con

My family and I have travelled approximately 2,500 miles from San Juan to Minneapolis. Most of the miles by air From Chicago to Minneapolis via Car. I have less than 10% of my trip to go and reach Fargo, ND and meet with some of the most talented creatives and my closests friends. Many have travelled even further than me. I made it here thanks to the support of many of my friends like Rahul who gifted us two days in a hotel in Chicago.

My family and I have travelled approximately 2,500 miles from San Juan to Minneapolis.

Most of the miles have been by air. After that we moved via car from Chicago, IL to Minneapolis, MN. I am less than 10% of my trip to  reach Fargo, ND and meet up with some of the most talented creatives who I call friends. Many have travelled even further than me.

Fargo to San Juan

In 2012, I remember going through the roughest patch of my 7 years of running my own business. I made it to Fargo, ND to attend the first Misfit Conference .

With the help of AJ and Melissa Leon, I was able to hack my way to Fargo with some airline miles and the help of close friends.

I left the conference inspired by Erik Proulx’s”Lemonade” documentary. I decided to choose my company name to be Limonade. I still carry my first year note pad as a guide to stay on track with my personal and business goals.

The first year of the conference every speaker shared some of their most intimate struggles. Many of them making me realizing that I was not alone. Justin Levy, who is now showing us what is to continue to battle, also taught me a lot by just getting on stage.

I made some pretty awesome friends like Clay, Gigi, Jackie, Nelson, Sue Anne, Patrick, Louis, Jenni, Aaron, and the list goes on and on that first year.

Last year I made it back and brought my family on a fun midwest road trip. I got to meet Erik Proulx in person and thanked him for his inspiration. I made a new friend in Jane Boyd and she has been a huge supporter this past year of what I do in many ways.

I also had the opportunity to meet Liz Strauss in person. Liz invited me to her event Genius Shared that was another great inspiration.

Once again I made it here thanks to the support of many of my friends like Rahul who gifted us two days in a hotel in Chicago.

I want to thank my clients that support our business, Limonade, and allow us to explore a bit outside the Island. Thanks to the Misfits, we gain ideas and knowledge to serve them better.

When people ask me who will be speaking or what it’s like at Misfit, the only thing I can say is that you have to be there.

There is no way to explain in words the Magic that Misfit has created in our lives.

Thank you AJ, Melissa, Genevieve, Mirko, Chloe, and Mark Weiler for creating this magic.

In a few hours I will arrive in Fargo and much like a child waiting to go into Disney World, I am more than excited to be there.

Only 245 miles to go…
